Hello Friend!
My name is Stacey Carroll and, as you may know, I am a Breast Cancer Survivor.
In October of 2022 I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of breast cancer known as Triple Negative Breast Cancer. It was a very scary time in my life and I wasn’t sure what to expect. I believed that in a very short period of time my life would change completely, and boy was I right! In a matter of just a few weeks, I found myself in the very first chemotherapy session. From there I had six and a half months of chemotherapy and immunotherapy, followed by surgery, six weeks of radiation, and another nine months of stand-alone immunotherapy. It was a hard two years, but I was blessed to have had minimal side effects, and I rarely missed a day of work.
Once treatment was completed, I found myself with a great deal of anxiety and nervous energy, and I needed somewhere to direct it. I decided to do a breast cancer walk with family and close friends. The event is Making Strides against Breast Cancer, and it was then and there that team “Pink for the Win” was born! It was an absolutely incredible experience, so much so that I decided to volunteer on the planning committee for the next year’s event. In that second year, my team’s membership doubled, as did the amount of donations. I was also honored to contribute to the MSABC campaign by creating a new area for the walk – Caregiver Corner. This is dedicated to honoring the Caregivers that support and partner with us on our journeys.
In June of 2023 after I had surgery, I was declared NED (No Evidence of Disease), but I decided my journey would not stop there. So today I continue walking, speaking, and raising money, all for breast cancer awareness and research. There is a lot that can be done and I believe that together, we can find a cure! Now in my third year with the MSABC event, I am finding that I have a BIG voice and ways to use it, and I hope you will come along with me as I continue my Journey.
So I am reaching out today to ask you to consider how you can get involved and support. Whether that is creating a team, joining a team, or donating to a team, it all counts! If you would like to donate to Pink for the Win, go to the Home page of this site for the link. Finally, I stop by the Photo Gallery page, so that you can see some pictures showing just how much fun we have!
Welcome to the Team!
